Air-Powered Wrench or Electric Wrench?

The air-powered wrench and the electric wrench are two of the most popular types of impact wrenches. Both types are bought by a lot of people for numerous purposes. Since the wrench is a tool that aids a lot of fastening applications, these high powered wrenches are considered as necessities by a lot of industries and factories for product assembly. Both wrenches basically perform the same function, which is why purchasing an impact wrench can be confusing for some people. These article will serve as a comparative analysis on both types of impact wrenches.

Air-Powered Wrench

Advantages: The air powered wrench or the compressed air wrench is the more power tool between the two wrenches. This wrench uses the compressed air as its power source. The air-powered wrench's main advantage over the electric wrench is that it can be used anywhere and its power source is practically costless. If a power outage occurs, the air-powered wrench will still perform whereas the electric wrench is useless in this situation. A surprising fact about the air-powered wrench is that it is just as powerful as the electric wrench and it doesn't share the number of hazards attached to the electric wrench.

Disadvantage: The only disadvantage with this wrench is its price. Top quality air powered wrenches are some of the most expensive wrenches available, since they usually come along with other equipment that gather and transfer air.

Electric Wrench

Advantages: Consistency is the key adjective on why the electric wrench is picked by some people. As long as there is electricity, the electric wrench is the more consistent performer. The air-powered wrench can suddenly wane down in its efficiency when the compressed air begins to empty. The electric wrench also has the lower price tag between the two.

Disadvantages: Using the electric wrench in a wet environment can be hazardous to the user's health. It is also useless during power outages and it cannot be used in job sites without electric power sources. Another notable disadvantage is that a lot of modern electric wrenches are made of plastic and can easily be damaged after a few violent hits.

Verdict

The air-powered wrench may own the higher price tag, but it is all worth it. Being able to use it at anytime and at any given condition is just too much of an advantage. Not to mention, that they are more durable than electric wrenches
